Stuart Anthony's Long Lost Band Hello all, Yep, we've finally come up with a name we can all live with. Stuart Anthony's Long Lost Band Stuart came up with it whilst on a train journey between Crewe & Lancaster, gazing out of the window, trance like, and thinking about he'd finally found the band that had all the right ingredients for getting out the sound of the songs in his head. We shall be performing and recording under that name from now on. Stuart Anthony : Vocals, Guitar Matt Appleton: Lead Guitar Oscar Armer: Bass Greg Maddox: Percussion (& sometimes Pete French on keyboards) The third album is well into production. We aim to have it all recorded by the end of August/Early September. |

Stuart Anthony - Bio
Stuart Anthony is not your usual singer songwriter. Noted for his unique voice, and his singular sound, his songs have the power to draw even the casual listener in as an utterly willing accomplice.
Stuart’s sound is particularly influenced by Tim Buckley and Nick Drake but is not held captive by those influences. He headlined the Tim Buckley Tribute Concert at London’s Cockpit Theatre in May 2008 and received praise from Tim Buckley’s lead guitarist and ex-Rolling Stone journalist, Lee Underwood, describing his work as:- "Truly beautiful, sensitive, intimate, bringing in Nick Drake and Tim Buckley influences, adding his own special energy, imagination, and talent. Great stuff!"
Trevor Dann, former head of BBC Music and latest biographer of Nick Drake described Stuart’s music as:- "Modern and timeless" Stuart also played the London tribute concert to Nick Drake in May 2009 and played before a live audience, the famous Guild guitar that Nick Drake holds on the cover of "Bryter Layter".
Using 6 and 12 string Acoustic guitar there is a quality to the music and in the delivery of the songs, which leaps out and marks this guy apart from his peers. After lots of gigs in his current base in Lancaster and then Liverpool & London, and a self released debut album "The Colourful Truth" (2008), he came to the attention of Mark Tucker, Chief Editor of Acoustic Magazine. Mark has also been engineer/producer to artists such as P.J.Harvey, Portishead, Fairport Convention & Pentangle. Mark promptly positively reviewed the unsigned album in the magazine and, later down the line, after saying "I can’t wait to get my mitts on your music!" decided to mix and master Stuart’s next album "House Of Sun".
The album was independently released in April 2009. Stuart is also featured as the "Heads Up" artist in Issue 31 of Acoustic Magazine out June 26th 2009.

House Of Sun
The new album "House Of Sun" is a musical journey of deeply original, yet accessible song writing, based in acoustic sound. Touches of violin, bass, piano and slide guitar add rich colour. Some tracks that mark this out as not your ordinary singer/songwriter meat and potatoes are:

Now recording album number 3 with a new band, and Major label interest already proffered, Stuart Anthony is looking like a his music could finally get the place it deserves in the pantheon. In the words of Acoustic Magazine in 2010…"it’s about time the world woke up to this man’s talents.."
